i can tell that i am using what i learned during the course properly this time. For instance, i learnt observational drawing skill in term1 ifs project studied Rodin.

i learnt the way how to present narrative and the skill to structure and to develop narrative in term 2 studied hypercube.

i am not really struggling so far – maybe this is because i took sufficient rest. i think i grew up a bit by pushing myself during term2.

The colour board is organically developed even though i don’t think about it yet.

There is a work that reminds me of the denim bleaching technique.

These colours indicate doom and evil in this project.

i have tried bleaching denim on my own for fun a few years ago. Once i researched how to bleach denim at that period, i have found a video which using dye and bleach.

i have bleached but dye so this time will be the first experiment. The thing is to use bleach is not proper in a public place so in need to find a place for it. Besides, i want to try dye or paint on leather s well. The skin of the monster somehow reminded me of leather with rough texture. The idea dying leather into the colour of the monster’s skin has come into my head.

This is the reference image that i want to do: not perfectly coloured and something rough texture. I can simply paint acrylic on leather. However, as a student study fashion, i want to try something more fashionable material like leather paint.

There is a scene that the monster tied in a rope by mob. This scene looks alike the work of Hans Bellmer. This is an unexpected inspiration that suggests the new direction of work.

i have rewatcehd the film again just in case i missed some scenes. i found a scene the monster looks down a stream and sees his reflection. He got angry and horrified by his appearance. This reminds me of the chapter of the book about the facial injuries that said they didn’t put mirrors on wards for them.

The monster splashes the water. The image of that scene his face twisteds by wave of water seems like the portrait painting by Francis bacon.

the keyword of design will be curved lines and distortion.
