i was not happy with the 3d experiment at first. As i mentioned previous, i want to focus on my own study rather than presenting outcomes that look good, so i just started off 3d experiment as a study of creating sphere shape.

i have been having a quite specific but abstract shape in my mind. so i focused on portraying the shape on mannequin rather than creating garment shape. it was more like fine art for me and i actually had so much fun with this. i was not really happy with the outcome of 3d experiment in term2. This might be because i already had an image of garment even before carrying out 3d experiment so i felt like i followed the image of the result in my mind. This time, i didnt think about the result at all and just followed my heart. i used all of materials i have been preparing for this. i wanted to work on this until i am happy with so i invested lots of time compared to other classmates. Of course, i presented only two works i fell behind. However, i learnt many techniques like leather dying, wet molding, bleaching, forming sphere shape, and most importantly, the skill of 3d experiment got improved compared to term 2. I’m happy with the progress so far.

the tutor required me to make this being able to put on the human body. I actually thought that its such a shame that finish the work at this point because i loved the outcome. However, this was not In plan and it means the 3d work on the mannequin doesn’t have a structure to put on the actual body. i will need time to figure it out.

+ i detached the work from the mannequin and covered all of holes that filled with cotton. however there are too many pins which are glued on the work so it couldn’t be worn on body. it was not plan to make it to be able to put on body but when next time i do 3d work, i will use pins considerately and try using as less as possible.
