i visited the Tate Modern musuem to see the works of Hans Ballmer. the only purpose was to see his work but as its title is ‘Surrealism beyond borders’, i got some inspiration from the exhibition i might be able to use during the developing process.
i have used this contrasting effect to emphasize the outline of the body.

and i found this work in the exhibition. According to the description, this effect is called ‘solarisation’.

i found these works used similar effect at ‘Bodies of desire’ section which is the reason why i went there. These are also the photograph of human figure and solarisation effectively shows the outline of curve line of body like i intended.
The photo applied solarisation somehow seems to me scars of the monster as well. It would be an exciting way to extract shape as well.

desire in surrealism term is exactly same as what i am pursuing in this portfolio. Hans Bellmer was also one of surrealists who explored about this so his work will be perfectly fit to my work. Especially I’m glad that i found the word ‘shame’ which was one of keyword of the book ‘Shame and sexuality’ here.
