As i mentioned, i felt like to try leather dyeing so i have looked for stores that sell leather dye. i found the one store and visited it. The store only sells leather and there were tons of various types of leather in the shop. Leathers with green colour were also there and it suggested me another perspective. i bought leather dye and asked for few swatches and came back. i tried dying on white leather first.
First, This was not the colour i was looking for. Secondly, According to a store staff, there are two type of dyes: Oil-like dye and watercolour-like dye. I chose second one because it seemed the colour i was looking for. For this reason, the texture looks like watercolour paint and i am not happy with it. Therefore, i decided not to use it. the staff said that apparently i can mix colour like watercolour but she hasn’t tried this so i don’t know the how the result might be. Maybe i can try later.
i cant see the difference after i painted on black leather.

i have been thinking how to show this scar details of the monster. i tried to think straightforward so i just scratched the leather with a cutter and put colour with colour pencil on the crack.
When i fold it, the texture of crack shows more clearly. In this project, the sphere shape would be dominant. In other words, this texture will be amplified when it is on sphere shape.
