i started off researching about my project. I focused on Frankenstein first. I visited the library in lcf and csm for research. There were bunch of books about film like makeup or artists which looked interesting as i am a movie lover. I want to revisit on next holidays to read them.
i have no idea how visualize the story of Frankenstein into design. i don’t have a specific direction for this project so i just started to grab books about frankesntein as many as possible to organize my ideas. i am trying not to think too much in this project. The reason why i had lost for few weeks in term2 was because i made up my mind how the final result will be even before design process. For this reason, i cleared my head and i will follow the research so the idea can be developed organically. i will enjoy the work , not too be stressed about it as if i am doing work. i also considered the proof that i can logically convince readers who will assess my work while researching. Because as Karylin pointed out, the main point of Frankenstein is about challenging toward god. it seems no connection between Frankenstein and libido.
+ i visited an exhibition of Francis Bacon just for fun. Actually, i was considering using Francis Bacon as one of my inspirations for libido because once i looked at his work, his work somehow evokes something erotic mood from the curvy and fluid-like shape of his painting that portrayed human figures. However, i tend not to use the inspiration if it doesn’t logically make sense so i wanted to check out his work in person and get some information of him. And actually there were some pieces of work about erotic subjects but also i found out interesting another artist information that Francis Bacon used as his inspiration.

i basically visited the museum for fun so i need to study about the relationshiop between his work and libido or eros but they were unexpected resources which is interesting. Furthermore, the photograph work, Hans Bellmer, i used for the moodboard task looks similar to his work.

Probably this is will be the start point to develop the idea, libido. There was a gift shop in there and i found a book about ‘gothic’. I somehow was intrigued by the book and read it. Frankenstein was also in the book so i am thinking study about gothic a bit as well. During this weekend i will visit Freud museum to study his idea of libido and finish research for the overall structure of my project so i will not be lost during the project.
+ i started off practicing 3d softwares. it is a software i havent used so i think it will take some time to get used to it. i learnt photoshop on my own. i have dropped out of high school so i had so much time than other friends. i used to play with photoshop and if i have a question of it i searched on youtube or google. So i am trying not to feel pressure to create good work with 3d software and trying to have fun. Im not sure if i will really be able to use 3d software because this is utterly unfamiliar media. However, i will keep doing practice.
